This 14km cycle route runs the length of the Cumbrae’s western coast
This tour is 9 miles long, please allow at least 1 hour 5 minutes to complete it, excluding the time taken to enjoy the destinations along the way.
There is much for scenery-lovers to appreciate on this substantial cycling route which follows Cumbrae’s western coastline. Departing from the iconic Crocodile Rock, it travels past The Wedge (said to be the world’s narrowest house) and progresses north to the stunning red sands and smooth boulders of Fintry Bay – an ideal resting spot for cyclists. Proceed to the HMS Shearwater Monument at the Cumbrae’s northernmost point, affording breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde; and complete the loop with a visit to the Cumbrae’s highest point, the Glaid Stone.
