This 7.1 mile (11.5 km) walk along the picturesque Ayrshire Coastal Path will take around 4 hours. The walk is along promenades, farm tracks, cycle paths and roads
This tour is 7.1 miles long, please allow at least 2 hours 5 minutes to complete it, excluding the time taken to enjoy the destinations along the way.
The walk takes you along good paths past memorable sights. The sights include the well preserved peel tower of Portencross, to which King Robert II was a frequent visitor. Further on past the decommissioned Hunterston A Power Station and the modern Hunterston B Power Station, which supplies around 25% of Scotland’s power needs, you can find Kelburn Country Park and Largs Yacht Haven.
