Fern Andy Cave

The tale of Fern Andy and his cave is well known amongst locals on Cumbrae. However, the exact whereabouts of the cave is disputed. The tale goes that a man by the name of Andy lived in a cave near Fintry Bay in the 1920s. He was said to have weaved baskets out of shrubs and plans and sold them to make his living. Despite the face that little knowledge is actually known about him, photographs of Andy in his cave have survived.
