About Catrine
Catrine is a village that lies beside the River Ayr in East Ayrshire. It has approximately around 2,500 inhabitants and is the site of the former bleaching works of Messrs Finlay & Co. The site currently contains Glen Catrine Bond which bottles whisky and vodka. Catrine was once well-known for its extensive cotton mills being at forefront of expanding technology in the 19th century.
The village today has a few shops and a café run by a community trust and is often visited due to the villages great fishing seasons
