Theme for April 2021 is: SPRING!

Photo Competition

Every picture has a story to tell

The Coig have launched an exciting new photo story competition called #CaptureTheCoig. We are inviting keen photographers to share an image and the story behind it via social media. The competition will run throughout 2021 and will have different monthly themes.

Our monthly photo story competition, #CaptureTheCoig continues into April with the theme of:

Sometimes the only way to really capture a moment is through an image – and we want to see yours and hear the story behind it. So whether it’s a view you’ve enjoyed with those closest to you or wildlife encounters in your own backyard, we’d like you to illustrate how you have experienced The Coig locally during 2021.

We’d like to see images that tell a story, illustrate moments of positivity whilst focussing on our monthly theme of SPRING! Whether it be images of local nature on your doorstep, a beautiful spring scene, flowers, or your favourite local beauty spot. We want to see how our local communities are enjoying aspects of their own SPRING! along the Coig’s five amazing routes.

Please be sure to stick to the guidance of staying close to home. As The Coig boasts a wealth of beauty spots on our doorsteps, you could even capture scenes from your window. Do get involved and enter your SPRING! photo story.

The best photo story shared on social media using the hashtag #CaptureTheCoig each month will win a luxury bespoke hamper, put together by our friends at Geraldo’s of Largs, and filled with tasty treats from Ayrshire and the Clyde Islands.

Every monthly winner will then become a finalist and in with a chance of being picked as the overall competition winner with a prize of a luxury weekend staycation during 2022.

April’s winning photo story will be announced during the first week of May on social media and on this page. We will also be sharing a selection of our favourite photo stories for you all to see.

The Coig’s CEO Daniel Steel said,

“We’re proud to launch the competition and look forward to seeing The Coig’s 5 routes at their very best throughout the year.

“This competition is a real celebration of the place we call home. While we can’t explore beyond our immediate area at the moment, it’s still possible to get the year started by capturing a snapshot of something that sums up the beauty of The Coig while you’re out for your daily exercise.

“Look out for the monthly themes on social media for your chance to win a staycation prize at the end of the year.”
